The beaches in the south part of Mykonos (Ornos, Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise), offer much better protection from the wind. Of course, everything depends on where the winds blow from. If it is a windy day, ask if it is a Northern Wind (most often) and go to the south beaches, or if it is a Southern Wind (Go to the Northern beaches).

10. Panormos Beach

One of the most secretive beaches on the island, even with the amounts of tourists who travel to Mykonos, has been the perfect sanctuary for naturists.

Panormos is home to the famous beach bar, Principote (
https://principote.com/ ).

11. Agios Sostis

Agios Sostis beach is an off-the-beaten-path beach, as it is not organized and not as popular and crowded as the “Superstar” beaches of Super Paradise, Psarou, Paraga, Paradise and Ornos. It is on the North part of Mykonos, so the water is pretty cold here, compared to the southern beaches of Mykonos.

There is no bus from Mykonos town to Agios Sostis beach, so you can only reach it by car (22 minutes, 7.6km from Mykonos town), or with a taxi which will cost around 15 euros (one way).

If you go to Agios Sostis beach, a tip is to go and eat to Kiki’s tavern, which is close to it. You cannot make a reservation there, so you will have to wait.

Kiki's tavern has a great scenery to the sea, great food and fairly rational prices, considering you are in Mykonos and everything is expensive.

12. Lia Beach

Lia beach is pretty far from Mykonos, but it is a very beautiful and quiet beach which is why it is preferred mostly by families and elderly people and it’s ideal for kids who want to play. Getting to the beach is a little rocky and the water is a bit cooler than most of the other beaches on this list since it faces the northern part of the island.

13. Mersini Beach

Mersini beach can be found right next to Foko beach. Mersini is an amazing beach if you are in need of a place to relax and find unforgettable swimming. The beach itself is split up in two smaller beaches by large rocks which one would easily be able to climb over barefoot. A little further down the beach, there is also a surprise for those who like going on adventures…but fair warning, you will need strong legs and good shoes!
